Plain Talk: Why My Manuscript is 100% Handmade

As an IT professional, I live in a world of logic, algorithms, and code. I see every day how rapidly technologies evolve, and artificial intelligence has become an indispensable part of modern IT. It is a brilliant tool for automating processes and solving complex problems.

But precisely because I know this world so well, I draw an absolute, insurmountable line when it comes to my other great passion: writing.

The Machine Doesn’t Co-Write To put it very clearly and leave no room for speculation: I do not use any AI for my texts. No ChatGPT, no Gemini, no hidden algorithms churning out plots or writing dialogues for me. Everything written in my manuscript comes 100 percent from my own pen—and my own mind.

Why do I emphasize this so clearly? Because authors with a technical background, in particular, easily fall under suspicion of making their lives “easier” with generative AI.

The Craft Needs Soul A program can calculate probabilities. It knows which word statistically follows the previous one best. But a program has never experienced heartbreak, never felt fear in the dark, and never processed a loss.

Stories thrive on human experiences, on flaws, on emotions, and on the completely unique, individual “voice” of an author. If you outsource writing to a machine, you might end up with a grammatically correct text. But it is sterile. The soul of the story gets lost.

My Promise to Agencies and Future Readers I am currently looking for the right literary agency for my debut. So, to whoever has my manuscript on their desk—and whoever hopefully holds my first book in their hands in the future—I make a clear promise:

You are reading my thoughts, my hard work, and my sleepless nights. You are reading the sentences I sometimes wrestled with for hours until they finally clicked.

IT and writing are my two worlds. In one, I celebrate technological progress. In the other, I celebrate genuine, human craftsmanship. And I will continue to keep these two worlds strictly separate in the future.
